The festivities will be held on 21 (today), 27 and 28 September. In line with the theme of “Doggie Heroes” this year, over 100 dog owners and their doggies dressed up as their favourite action heroes, such as Superman, Batman and Captain America to wow the judges, who crowned the most outstanding duo as winners.

Today’s programme highlights included the “Doggie Hero Challenge”, where doggies were assessed on their performances in speed (“Doggie Speed Tunneling”), agility (“Doggie Hula Jump”), strength (“Doggie Muscle Challenge”) and courage (“Doggie Catch the Enemies”). Aspiring doggie heroes also learned the ropes from special guests including representative from Hong Kong Seeing Eye Dog Services; Joyce, Animal Communicator, Alliance of Animal Communicators Caring About Animals; Decky Li, IACP Certified Dog Trainer; the Doctor Pet Poodle Family of 6, who are also honoured as Doctor Pet Hong Kong Outstanding Animals 2011; as well as Dior, the talented poodle that has now become a TV phenomenon.

Doggies were be put to the challenge of courage, intelligence and stamina through a variety of interactive activities, while pet owners had a chance to train up their pets through fun and games. At HKSEDS Booth: Guide Dog 101, dog lovers had the chance to learn more about the daily routine of a professional seeing eye dog, one of many canine companions that serve the visually-impaired community. Qualified Animal Communicators hosted live one-to-one pet communication sessions at the Doggie Communication Workshop, where dog owners learned to bond with our canine friends.
