Stanley Plaza Supports “Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships” for the Third Year

On 2 Jun in Stanley, waves of festive cheers once again filled the neighbourhood as the annual Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships took place to mark the traditional Tuen Ng Festival. For the third successive year, The Link Management Limited ("The Link") sponsored the flagship annual community event, with the Stanley Plaza name adorning the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Division” and the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Gold Cup”. Andy Cheung, Chief Financial Officer of The Link, was among the officiating guests at the opening ceremony and also presented awards to the winning teams after the competitions ended. “The Link Elite” team, formed by staff from The Link, participated in the race and competed fiercely for the championship.
Record number of participants at the Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships
The Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships has been well received by athletes and spectators alike over the years. This year, a record 190 teams comprising 3,800 participants took part in the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Division” and the “Stanley Plaza Mixed Gold Cup”. Andy Cheung said, “The Link is devoted to promoting and participating in community activities, so we are honoured to sponsor the Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships for the third year in a row. Dragon boat races are a significant sporting event in traditional Chinese culture, and we are proud to have our employees take part in some of the races to promote the sport and help share the joyful atmosphere of Tuen Ng Festival.”
